|Goose Island Oatmeal Stout|
|An aromatic blend of oats, chocolate and coffee enhances our classic Oatmeal Stout. Encompassing award-winning flavor, a rich black over ruby hue and a creamy tan head, this stout is memorable and enduring. All in all, a truly drinkable brew. ABV 5%.|
|Review||Appearance: Almost pitch black on the deep reddish side. Nougat brown head vanishing fast and no laces.
Aroma / Smell: Ripe fruit, distinct liquorice and a little chocolate and coffee.
Taste: Sweet liquorice, coffee, little chocolate, vanilla and a bit of sourness from dryed fruits. Notes of smoked and/or roasted malt.
Mouthfeel: Very easy drinkable, smooth on the tongue. A little acid but no alcohol presence. Medium body. Little bitterness.
Overall: Extremly nice and surprisingly easy to drink, yet with all the ingrediens a Stout should be made with. Well, maybe a little more coffee and chocolate wouldent hurt. But still a highly recommendable beer. Seeing other photos of this beer might lead me to think that it normally has a nice head too.
This was a first timer for me, also brandwise. I really enjoyed it and cant wait to try more from this brewery.
Very close to 4½ star.
