|Bayou Teche Courir de Mardi Gras|
|An artisanal version of this elegant French ale. Biere de Mars is historically crafted with Pilsner, Munich, and a large dose of wheat malt – the wheat lends the beer a distinct, Spring-like quality.” When the brewers at Bayou Teche discovered this French style of ale, they decided to seasonally brew batches for South Louisianan’s pre-Lenten celebrations. I figured I would review this one now that Mardi Gras season is here in Louisiana. This one pours a nice clean orange color with a fluffy white head that left thick lacing in my glass. Smell is pleasant, picking up some delicate fruit, grain and some faint orange zest. It has a medium to light body, somewhat oily with good carbonation. Entry is again delicate fruit, orange and lemon zest and a hint of alcohol. Finish is clean, airy and slightly bitter. I really like this brew, it's very easy to drink and reminds me of some of the other Louisiana Mardi Gras brews available this time of year. Perfect for a parade! Another quality brew from Bayou Teche. I recommend this one and give it 4 stars, Most Excellent!
