| Samuel Adams Imperial White | |
|
A new perspective on the classic witbier style. Witbiers are normally light and refreshing with a fruity finish and Samuel Adams wanted to see how these characteristics would stand up when they amped up the recipe. This is not just a more intense version of their spring seasonal Samuel Adams White Ale. Imperial White is a new recipe that stands on it own merits. It really is more of a wine substitute than just another refreshing witbier. This is a beer that should be sipped and savored and you’ll be amazed at the flavors you’ll discover as the beer warms and opens up. ABV 10.3% |

| Review | Samuel Adams Imperial White has a very thick, off-white head and a cloudy, amber appearance with thick lacing left behind. The aroma is of corn husks, alcohol, bread, and turned fruit. Taste is of cough medicine, sweetness, turned fruit, alcohol, white wheat bread, and other unpleasant things. Mouthfeel is thick and globby, and Samuel Adams Imperial White finishes dense, heavy, and gross. For fans of Vicks Formula 44 D, this should be a gold medal winner. I rate it 2 stars (average).
