|Budweiser American Ale|
|This beer claims to be in a new class of ale known as the "American Ale" that offers complex taste without much bitterness.|
|Review||Thought this was quite an excellent beer. Poured from 22oz bottle into a tumbler-style pint glass. Beer poured an very dark amber with reddish tints to it and a large, 2 1/2 finger wide, tan head.
The smell was very pleasant. I picked up right away on the Cascade hops and barley. Also some nice hints of caramel malt jumped out at me as well. Overall nice smelling beer.
The taste was nice and sweet up front coming from those caramel malts, and slightly grainy, but with a nice hoppy bitter, but not too bitter finish. There was some slight hints of this almost "bubblegummy" sweetness that just didn't seem right for the style, but I was able to look past it (it does come from a large macro-brewery after all...)
Mouthfeel was nice and crisp and clean. Went down very smooth and nice.
