Glad to be here! Planning to be a regular contributor... attempting to stray away from American lagers and be a bit more adventurous... striving to be more of a beerologist.

I'm Spike65, Stu Fitzsimons. Been a beer drinker since about 1962 and legally from 1969. Gave it up in the mid 1980s to raise a family and started up again when the craft beers first showed up in the late 1980s. Deschutes Black Butte Porter was a revelation. Didn't get serious until about 2006 and started reviewing beers at that time. I have reviewed on two other websites but have grown tired of the virtual yelling and chest thumping on those other sites. From what I have seen so far this is a much more neutral site. Thanks for the welcomes and am looking forward to contributing more in the future.

Welcome Spike65. The Beer in Me is a great place to be if you are tired of the mindset of the 'big' beer review sites. You can feel free to review any beer of any style that you like (or don't like) and not fear being ripped here. My personal view is that beer is something to be enjoyed, not something to get stressed about and start arguments with other drinkers. I am all for encouraging people to try new beers, but I also don't get upset if someone is a dedicated "Bud man" or an "IPA only man".

I hope you enjoy your stay at The Beer in Me!
