Beer geeks are grinning today. New Belgium, the well-regarded Colorado brewery, announced it will enter the Louisiana market on April 1.

At first New Belgium will sell five to six different beers in 22-ounce "bomber" bottles. A brewery spokesman said the portfolio will include the flagship Fat Tire amber ale, Ranger IPA and the 1554 black ale. At least one beer from New Belgium's Lips of Faith series, a line of experimental brews, will be part of the initial Louisiana selection.

Someone at Matherne's Supermarket was commenting on this, yesterday. And, he said that Yuengling has been held up, because the company was having trouble keeping up with production demands.

Looking forward to Yuengling also. Hope it gets here soon. That's a great lager.

I had a few Lips of Faith. They were pretty well crafted. I'm glad to see access to another brewery. I'm really hoping for Great Divide next!!!
