Not only are they two personal favorites of our brewers, they each have long and storied pasts that we were excited to explore. Norse Legend, we've been working on this unique sahti ale at the brewery for over 8 years trying to get it just right and we're excited to finally get to share it. This ancient Finnish style dates back to the Vikings and was traditionally homebrewed by women. Their technique of filtering the beer through juniper branches was a bit difficult to replicate in our brewery. We tried a bunch of variations and finally landed on aging the beer on a bed of juniper berries, infusing it with just the right balance of woodsy, herbal character. We also incorporated specialty malts for a rich smoothness and rye for an earthy spice . Originating outside of Bavaria, this unfiltered wheat ale departs from that tradition with another layer of flavor and unexpected dry smoothness. Golden and hazy with the crisp twang of wheat, Verloren also has a softness to it that's enlivened by a touch of salt for a mineral quality and coriander for peppery spice.
